This policy explains what personal information LeagueFans (leaguefans.com) collects, why, and what your rights are. LeagueFans is run by [your name or business name], who is responsible for your information. You can contact us at [contact email address].
If you don't create an account, we don't ask for any personal information. The teams, leagues and colour theme you choose are saved only in your own browser (using "local storage") and never sent to us.
Visitor statistics. To see how many people use the site, we count page views. We record which page was opened, the website you came from (if any), the type of device (mobile, tablet or desktop) and the time. To count each visitor once a day without cookies, your IP address and browser details are turned into a code using a random value that is deleted every day, so the code cannot be traced back to you or linked to other days. We don't store IP addresses, don't use cookies for this and don't share these figures with anyone. They are kept for up to 13 months.
If you create an account, we store:
To protect accounts from attacks, we also keep a short record of sign-in, sign-up and password-reset attempts, including the IP address used. These records are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
We use your information only to run your account: to sign you in, to show your saved lists on any device, to send you password-reset emails when you ask for them, and to keep the site secure. Our legal basis is that this is needed to provide the account service you asked for (contract) and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
We don't sell your information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't send marketing emails.
When you sign in, we set one cookie (lfsess) that keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for the account to work, so it doesn't need your consent. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
Your account information is stored on our web hosting provider's servers (123 Reg). Football data comes from API-Football and news headlines come from Google News; we don't send them any of your personal information. News links open the original publisher's website, which has its own privacy policy.
We keep your account information until you delete your account. You can delete it at any time from the Account button on the site; this removes your email, password and lists straight away.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. To use any of these rights, contact us at [contact email address].
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
